Incorporated in 2003, Amica Helping Hands is a registered Canadian charity. Its mandate is to support underprivileged Canadian seniors in need.
Every December, Amica Helping Hands prepares baskets filled to the brim with non-perishable foods, a warm blanket and gift certificates for local grocery stores and pharmacies. The gift baskets are then delivered to low income seniors with the assistance of local charities. Most recipients of the baskets live alone and in poverty. This basket will be the only gift many seniors will receive over the holidays and throughout the year.
In addition to the basket program, Amica Helping Hands supports the work of not-for-profit organizations across Canada that assist seniors in need by providing these organizations with funds for initiatives that improve the quality of life of the seniors they serve.
Amica residents and team members fundraise all year at our Amica communities. In addition, Amica corporate office organizes an annual fundraising event for Helping Hands.

Amica Helping Hands Fundraising Event
On November 2, 2017, Toronto’s corporate leaders at the Omni King Edward Hotel came together to support seniors in need at the Amica Helping Hands annual fundraising dinner.
Hosted by comedian, author and mental health advocate Jessica Holmes, the evening began with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a gourmet sit-down dinner.
Keynote speaker Susan Pinker, psychologist, journalist and award-winning author, discussed her latest book, The Village Effect: How Face-to-Face Contact Can Make Us Healthier and Smarter. Neuropsychologist Dr. Shayna Rosenbaum presented her findings on aging and memory. Funds raised, including those proceeds from the Resident Art Silent Auction, will be donated toward helping underprivileged Canadian seniors in need.
We invite you to make a difference and give a helping hand by sponsoring our event. This is your opportunity to connect with senior living industry leaders, increase your brand recognition and enjoy an evening of laughter and inspiration, all while supporting seniors in need. With your support, you will receive a wide range of benefits including promotion of your brand at the event and on social media. Most importantly, your sponsorship will directly improve the lives of seniors in need across Canada.
If you’d like to sponsor the 2017 Amica Helping Hands fundraiser, please contact Sarah Santaluce, Amica Brand Manager: email@example.com or call 647-248-6631.
