Royal Canadian Air Force – #437 Squadron – Served 3 years

Serving in the 437 Squadron of the Air Force, Gordon was a Captain of the transport category aircraft, responsible for dropping off troops and equipment as well as evacuating wounded personnel.

Gordon trained in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta and was stationed at Blakehill Farm in the UK and throughout Europe after D-Day. Gordon participated in Operation Market Garden, the invasion of Sicily and post D-Day operations in Europe.

After serving 3 years in the RCAF, Gordon returned home to Canada in 1946 and worked for Air Canada for 37 years. Gordon retired in 1983 as a B-747 Captain.
