Steve Sammut is an accomplished Canadian business leader with extensive experience leading complex service organizations, developing high-performing teams and delivering sustainable growth.

As Chief Executive Officer, he leads Amica’s strategy and operations, with a focus on exceptional resident and team-member experiences, a strong culture and continued growth while remaining true to Amica’s commitment to personalized service, hospitality and expert care.

Before joining Amica in 2026, Steve served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Northland Properties, one of Canada's largest privately held hospitality organizations. In that role, he helped lead a diverse portfolio of businesses employing approximately 12,000 team members across hotels, restaurants, resorts, sports teams and other hospitality and real-estate businesses. His focus was on translating strategy into clear priorities and measurable results while strengthening organizational capabilities and enhancing customer experience and business performance.

Previously, Steve was President and Chief Executive Officer of Rocky Mountaineer, where he spent nearly nine years growing the globally recognized luxury rail-tour company and guiding it through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier in his career, he held senior finance roles with urban developer Intracorp and the resort operator/developer Intrawest, following his start in corporate finance at CIBC World Markets..

Steve holds an MBA from McMaster University, an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and is a CFA charterholder.
